Super creepy stuff! Pretty fantastic, though. It took a few songs for me to find the groove with these guys, but by track 4 (Elan), I was sold. There are some great bass lines peppered throughout, and those vocals... just spooky. Love it.

The rhythm section is in a hypnotic groove, the bass with an extraordinary gravely tone anchored in doom, while layered lead guitars dance and interweave in jams reminiscent of a hazy sun-baked Woodstock. Add in some existential lyrics which call to mind Albert Camus' The Stranger (which inspired The Cure's Killing an Arab) and what you get is a superb album. Summer of Love?... more like Summer of DOOM! Master of Alchemy
